Starachowice is a picturesque town located in the northern part of the Świętokrzyskie province, by the Kamienna river, in the so-called Old Polish Industrial District, between two large complexes of forests: the Kielce and Iłża Backwood.

At a distance of 25 km south of the city extends to the main range of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains - Łysogóry. Varied area, a wealth of natural forms and cultural heritage make Starachowice and its surroundings a wonderful area for nature lovers, hikers and cyclists. This is confirmed by popular and often visited places such as Wachock, Iłża, Bodzentyn, Tarczek, Święty Krzyż /Holy Cross, Grzegorzowice, Krynki, Nietulisko, Wykus, Michniów, Kałków.

Wąchock - Cistercian city by the Kamienna river

Wąchock - a city known throughout Poland with the jokes about the village administrator, and yet the old city of tracking, serious by its history, like many others in the former Poland. In its riverside landscape dominates a characteristic Cistercian monastery.

And it was also an important economic, cultural, not only religious center. We can say that Wąchock is the patriotic center for all the Sandomierz area - during the January uprising the city was "the" capital "of the" Polish underground state. During the last World War I it witnessed the combatants fights.

Wąchock Abbey Romanesque

Wąchock Abbey Romanesque St Mary and St Florian's Church from the 13th century, built on a Latin cross plan.

The 12th century monastery with well-preserved Romanesque interior with a beautiful chapter house which forms the unique value of the masterpieces of the Cistercians in Poland.

The Cistercian abbey was totally rebuilt in 17 th century but there are still some interiors from the 13 th century. Wąchock is one of the most important European cultural routes - the Cistercian and Romanesque Route.

Track racing - Autodrom Jastrząb

The most modern automotive training facility in Poland, starting from May 2014 Europa Hotel has begun the cooperation with it. This center of excellence driving technique is just 30 km away.

JuraPark in Bałtowie

JuraPark Bałtów - Poland's first theme park dedicated to dinosaurs.

Dinosaur footprints discovered in Baltów contributed to formation of the JuraPark. Bałtowski Tourist Complex covers an area of over 60 hectares and is the largest entertainment facility in Poland. There are over 100 models of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. All natural size.

Thanks to cooperation with paleoartists and world-famous scientists there have probably been created the most accurate reconstructions of the world.

In the area of JuraPark you can also see Witch Village, Mini Zoo, Prehistoric Oceanarium, Cinema 5D Cinema Emotions, Sabathówka, Amusement Park, rafting. With the hotel card you get 20% discount.

Ski Station in Bałtów

Ski station „Bałtów Switzerland” is the best ski resort of the province.

The most modern technical infrastructure are: snowmaking system and drainage, lighting that will allow additional time for the use of winter activities late into the night.

Cave Raj

It is considered to be the most beautiful cave in Poland. It's the complex of corridors and chambers decorated with hundreds of stalagmites, stalactites, and cave pearls of various shapes and forms. There is available the 180-meter underground tourist route, guided cave tours only.

Święty Krzyż/Łysa Góra

At the top of Łysa Góra there is a Benedictine monastery with the relics of the cross on which Christ died (the ability to kiss relics and adoption blessing) there is also a mission museum in which there are interesting exhibits from around the world such as dress of the bride weighing more than 30 kg - in order to feel the burden of marriage.

In the monastery you can visit the crypts of the legendary Jeremy Wiśniowiecki. In one of the wings of the abbey there is the Museum of the National Park. Walking around Łysa Góra you can look for witches, then go to the observation deck, which is located on the rocky debris, characteristic of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains called Gołoborze
